Time is Pressing On...

I just looked at the clock and was shocked to see the time!  We'll be heading toward Birmingham sometime this evening.  Fidelio's post was beautifully written and - I must admit - the emotion conveyed by it prevented me from adding another post for a couple of days.  Nevertheless, she was able to change her plans (mostly on account of my begging) and will be flying in tonight so that she can be at the ceremony tomorrow.  No one else of my family can make it. 

Mom plans on updating this blog every once in awhile with pictures of my future life, so keep checking to see if there's something new.  Otherwise, thank you for being active readers and, in the case that I will not be present in the blogging world after this, Au Revoir!

Movie Time

So, Big Bro and I have had some bonding time.  Since sending Dad off, we've gone to see two movies together.  Yes, this is our idea of "hanging out".  :)  We braved the theater to go see The Dark Knight Rises.  I liked it but for a couple of scenes...   Despite them, I thought it was a great ending to the Batman "legend".  The best part was seeing the previews beforehand - at least one preview: The Hobbit!  It only took three music notes for me to jump in my seat in the theater. 

Today we went to see The Amazing Spiderman.  I liked it a lot.  It did seem like a comedy, however,  after watching Batman.  :)  Unfortunately, one of the best scenes was in the preview in its entirety. 

Otherwise, I've not been doing much except for babysitting nephews and hanging out with friends.  I was going to get my license today, but I had a flat tire in the Focus on the way...  Yes, my driver's-license-acquiring is not progressing in my favor.  Oh, well.  I guess I just need more experience.  :)

Catching Up

And we also visited Gettysburg(!)  It was a breathtaking experience.  I couldn't believe how far you could see from Little Round Top and how far away the Seminary tower was (where Buford observed the battle).  It was awesome to follow up our Maine trip with a trip both to Fredericksburg (June) and Gettysburg.

Great Movie

"Oh, its a sign from above!"

I saw Tintin again and I am still of the opinion that it is one of the best action/adventure movies ever made.

Other things that have been happening in my life are as follows:

1.  I helped Fidelio with the new arrival and the old one, too.  I can now say, despite my calling in life, I have now had the experience of "2 AM feedings" (as they say in the movies).  And, I loved it!
2.  Nana had total knee replacement surgery and only came home from the therepy hospital on Tuesday.  I was at her and Grandpa's house until last night.  I helped Nana manuver and kept her medicines straight. 
3.  Angry Birds SPACE is now on my iPad!!!  I just downloaded it and spent my lunch break trying it out.  It is beyond awesome!  The physics are amazingly accurate.  For instance, the pigs that are floating in 0-gravity space are encased in a bubble and when the bubbles burst, the pigs freeze and then explode.  :)

Legos...again!

One of the local Wal-Marts overstocked on Series 5 LEGO Minifigures and is selling boxes of them at 1/2 price.  Unfortunately, there are only fourteen to choose from and I'm not really interested in half of them.  So, Fidelio and I bought 8 British guards between us.  I'm keeping two, so expect some new pics on LEGO as i can.


All of our friends are asking for news on a certain new family member of ours - another baby boy...  Well, I have no news.  You didn't really think I'd post news of Baby #2 under a LEGO headline, did you?  ;)  Just keep praying and I'll let you know more soon.

100!!!

Unfortunately, as Fidelio would point out, my final for the American Government Course is only a 99 - not exactly the grade I was shooting for...

Anyway, I'll leave the paper on for awhile for you to enjoy.  :)

Valentine's Day TTT

HAPPY ST. VALENTINE'S DAY!

1.  This is one of the most beautiful love letters I have ever read.  It was written by Colonel Chamberlain to his wife, Fanny, "My darling wife I am lying mortally wounded the doctors think, but my mind & heart are at peace.  Christ is my all-sufficient savior. 2.  I found out today (due to Fidelio's incredible research) that I am descended from a line of British noblemen that dates back to the 12th century.  Sir Robert Needham, who lived in the 1600s, was the Viscount Kilmorey, the Baron of Orhera, a representative of Ireland in Parliament, and a staunch supporter of Charles 1st.  His son Charles succeeded him in these positions and was a member of the Irish House of Lords.  In other words, I'm the (innumerably) great granddaughter of a Jacobite viscount!

3.  In addressing the Army of the Potomac, Alexander Hamilton said, "The time is now near at hand which must probably determine whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their houses and farms are to be pillaged and destroyed, and themselves consigned to a state of wretchedness from which no human efforts will deliver them. The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the courage and conduct of this army.
